When I was a lot younger I remember making Christmas biscuits either at school or at home, and really enjoyed making them (and ofc eatings them!) so I went on the hunt for some cutters and a decent recipe that I could follow easily because I’m a novice and got baking! I decided to go for some festive shortbread instead because I reaaaaaally fancied some!

Makes: 20-25

Ingredients!

  • 250g of baking butter - softened

  • 240g plain flour

  • 125g sugar

And then to decorate:

  • Icing sugar

  • Some food colouring

  • Maybe some edible glitter or balls

  • Method!

  • Preheat oven to 150 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper or go around the tray with some butter

  • Beat the butter in a bowl until smooth

  • Add the sugar and flour and mix together

  • Knead the dough on a floured surface, then chill for 20 minutes

  • Divide dough into 2 pieces and then roll each of them out to a thickness of around 1/4 of an inch

  • Then crack out the festive cutters and go to town!

  • Pop your master pieces into the oven for about 15-20 minutes and then…

VIOLA!
