Food Faves In Edinburgh!

This post is wayyy overdue! Whilst away in Edinburgh back in November we wandered around the city looking for unique, relatively cheap places to try out instead of just going to our usual chain restaurants! As we stayed in a Travelodge on Princes Street we were pretty much slap bang in the middle of everything which was brilliant! We walked for bloody miles some days, but it was totally worth it because some of the sights were just fantastic!

One of my personal faves we tried whilst in Edinburgh is called ‘Tasty Buns’ on Bread Street. The staff in there were really welcoming and friendly, plus it had such a chilled out vibe that we both felt we could have sat there drinking tea allllllll afternoon! Trust me, after the amount of walking we had done I think we could have! We both tried out their rocky road and OHMYYYYGOD it was deeeelish! You have to try it if you ever find yourself near there! It consisted of white chocolate with Kinder Bueno inside and it tasted gorgeous! Writing about it now is just making me want to go back for more! If I ever go up to Edinburgh again I’m definitely returning!

Another gem was tucked away on Rose Street, called ‘Auld Hundred’. This was the CUTEST pub. You walk in and upstairs you’re tucked away from the cold busy streets for a little while. We were quickly welcomed by a friendly member of staff and we didn’t have to wait too long before our food came along! I had paprika and sweet potato soup, which I was a little sceptical about at first, but it was soooooo GOOD! I tried to savour it as much as I could! Definitely going to try this one out now were home, although I doubt itll ever taste as good… Afterwards we warmed up a bit more with the most amazing hot chocolate *drools*,

Last but certainly not least was ‘Cuckoo’s Cupcakes’ located on Dundas Street! If you are ever in the need for a sweet treat you neeeeeed go here! Their cupcakes were to DIE for! And they looked fantastic too! If we weren’t flying back we would definitely would have bought a ton to take home with us for the rest of the family to try! We bought the jammie dodger and red velvet cupcakes and they were fabbb!
